  • Isabelle’s 7th birthday party

    Isabelle’s 7th birthday party

Isabelle has known since the moment she celebrated her 6th birthday, that she wanted to go ice skating for her 7th and to be honest, bearing in mind that we are experiencing a full on heat wave at the moment, the thought of spending a few hours in the cool surroundings of the ice rink seemed bizarrely exciting!

The kids did amazingly well, some having never skated before, I on the other hand, didn’t do so well. I managed about 3 minutes on the ice before the fear took over and I quickly made my excuses and took up  the role of photographer, a much more comfortable job for me!

So, thank you to everyone who helped Isabelle celebrate her 7th birthday, she had an absolutely amazing time and hasn’t stopped talking about it since!! I’m waiting to find out what adventure she had planned for her 8th!!

  • Strawberry Picking – July 2018

    Strawberry Picking – July 2018

I’ve recently become very aware that I haven’t  been setting aside any time to photograph my own family, I have been so busy, having fun recording everyone else’s milestones, that I have been neglecting my own!!

So its time for a change!! I am going to make a definite effort to record more of my own families life, even if its the mundane everyday moments, after all this is why I got into photography in the first place, to record those little moments and to have these amazing memories to pass down to my children.

So, with this in mind, we headed out, camera in hand and went strawberry picking!

I used to love doing this with my family when I was little, so it always brings back such fond memories, plus the girls love it too! The perfect way to enjoy our little mini heatwave while it lasts!!

  • Family walk with our little Bo

As of today, we have had our little Bo for 6 whole days! To be honest though, it feels as though we have had her forever, I can’t actually imagine our house now without the pitter-patter of her tiny feet now.

It was a totally miserable, gloomy day today, in fact I think it has pretty much rained since the moment we woke. However, that wasn’t going to halter my plans of dragging everyone out for a gorgeous family walk. (Of course in my mind, this was going to be an amazing, happy family outing, I don’t know why I do it to myself, I should learn really, but those idyllic images, never tend to materialise ……!!)

Fast forward 10 minutes and I am already exhausted … the girls are continuously arguing over who’s turn it is to hold the lead, Bo has a huge appetite for poo and Steve keeps reminding me, he doesn’t ‘do’ walking!!

I think I’ll go myself next time!!

  • Isabelle’s 6th birthday party – Jump Factory

There happened to be a ‘teachers strike’ last year on Isabelle’s actual birthday, which was such a happy piece of news for us, as myself and my husband managed to take the day off work and spend it doing exactly what Isabelle wanted to do. So, being that she was 5 and was the minimum age for the Jump Factory, thats how we spent our day, just the 4 of us, jumping like idiots for Isabelle’s pleasure, with the place to ourselves (it was a tuesday!).

So, from that moment on, Isabelle knew she was going to spend her 6th birthday doing the same thing (you’d think, with that knowledge, I would have booked this at least 6 months ago!! No!! 3 weeks ago!! Ha!!).

So here we are, another swelting day in July, spent chasing around an indoor trampoline park.

The kids loved it though; red, sweaty faces all round = happy children xx
